Part 2 | Salvisberg family - 3 months in Tanzania

It continues with part 2. | There would be so much to tell about what the Lord has done during this time in Tanzania. Here again a few impressions.

Buturi | In Buturi, new people are constantly joining the community. Therefore, we visited Buturi again for two days. In addition, locals accompany the young believers once or twice a week. In the meantime, the number has grown to about 56.

Short testimony | This elderly lady had had pain in her back and knees for a long time, which meant she could no longer walk properly. In addition, there were also sleeping problems.

After hearing the full gospel from us, she repented, as the Bible says, and was baptized in the name of Jesus. She received the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) during the prayer that followed and was allowed to experience healing in her body.

About four weeks later we visited her, she is doing very well since then and she can also sleep very well again!🤗 Hallelujah, praise the Lord!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

People open their hearts to Jesus and are born again | From the outreaches, but also through the "healing plan", 170 people initially decided to be baptized.
As it was important to us that people not only celebrate a pool party, but are truly born again, we invited them to spend two days teaching them about faith, repentance, water baptism, receiving the Holy Spirit and following Jesus.

After these two days, 115 people were ready to leave their old lives behind in baptism and follow Jesus.

Here is a glimpse into the baptisms and the life of a woman who decided to put aside the life of sorcery and the power of darkness and turn to Jesus:

Many baptisms, free from the power of sorcery and healed legs.

Here is another testimony of a young man who was baptized:
Edouard - Mafuru, life testimony of a young man | When I (Joël) was in Tanzania in March together with the Haus and Matthew family, Caroline and Gideon met a young man on the street who was visibly not well. They explained the Gospel to him, to which he responded very openly.

They brought him to Daniel, who then took care of him and his family. Various difficulties arose. For example, he could no longer go to school because they could not afford the school fees. During this time, he fell into futility, found friends on the street who led him to drink alcohol, and the spiral spiraled even further downward.

Through the Gospel and practical financial support so that he could go back to school, new hope now came into his life. He was able to graduate from high school with top grades and can now choose which university he wants to study at. Since he currently had no job either, he started volunteering as a teacher in the school we built for orphans of preschool age.

Further, the Gospel changed his life. He became hungry for the Word of God and began to serve us as a translator. As a result, he kept hearing the full, saving gospel. This led him to repent, confess his sins, turn to Jesus and be baptized. After being baptized, he also received the Holy Spirit and experienced a strong inner peace and tranquility.

His mother also noticed the change in his life, so she traveled from afar to Musoma to meet Jesus and the people who helped her son and family break out of the spiral. The mother also chose Jesus right away and was baptized on the same day as her son together. Hallelujah!!🤗

We are curious to see what happens next with Mafuru.

Thank you for your prayers for him and his family. He can't go back to where he lives because his mother is afraid that envious families in the area will kill him because he did so well in school.

Yes, the subject of sorcery and ritual sacrifice is big,

but the lord is greater!

On the last Friday and Saturday before departure, Daniel and I invited the pastors and leaders of the region to a training. I was touched and grateful how strongly the pastors and leaders participated and were willing to learn.

Priority one was the full gospel, which has the power to save, as well as the topic of "blessing" & "curse". In many places in Africa, a prosperity, feel-good gospel is preached that attracts people to the churches because they want to be successful, but it does not change them. Many come to the churches and continue to live their daily lives as before, beating their wives, going to the magic doctor and so on.

We used the "flower" to delve deeper into the full gospel and practiced proclaiming the good news in five minutes in an everyday situation. They clearly enjoyed the exercise and did their best to get the gospel across in an understandable and creative way.

They have now made it their goal to go regularly, together, on the streets and from house to house, preaching the Gospel in the name of Jesus, healing the sick and freeing the bound from the power of Satan.

Thank you for your prayers that what God has started under these leaders will continue and much fruit will come from it.

The construction continues. The first floor of the first mission house is being built. Here are a few impressions:

Preparation for the floor of the second floor.
The irons are laid so that the concrete can be poured.
The land has now also been "leveled". They call it "leveling the ground".

Further, in addition to the two mission houses, a lodge to house the "apprentices", a seminar/conference room, a kitchen with dining/community room will be built.

We continue to be very grateful for your prayers, but also for financial support. We hope to complete the building project with the Discipleship Training School early next year. Regardless of whether it will be or not, we will continue to disciple and evangelize.

Best wishes and God's rich blessing! Salvisberg family
