Family Salvisberg - 3 months in Tanzania | Part 1
On June 1, 2023, we, the Salvisberg family, left for Tanzania for three months.
We lived in a lodge near our contact, Daniel, with his family. Our goal was to continue to build relationships, be disciples with the locals, bring the gospel, and also further the building of the discipleship center.
It started right away:
1st weekend | On Sunday we were always present at the service of the local church, where Daniel is the leader. Joël was allowed to preach each time. After the sermon we took time to pray for the different people and needs. In doing so, many experienced healing and deliverance over and over again. On the following Sundays we often heard testimonies of what God had done.
Visit and support from Switzerland | We were very grateful to have had support from home again and again spread over time. Various people from our house church network in the Winterthur region spent 3 weeks each with us in Musoma. So they had insight into the work here and got to know Daniel, his family and the church. Together we did evangelistic outreaches in different villages.
It was so good to serve together with brothers and sisters from Switzerland, but also to exchange with each other in their own language and culture. Lastly, there were also children, which was especially nice for our children.

Here are a few glimpses of evangelistic action:
June 15-16, 2023 Evangelism Outreach in Nyakiswa | The back story that we went to this place is very sad. Two weeks before we went to this village to preach the gospel, four motorcycle cab drivers were murdered one evening, on the open road. Nothing was taken from them?! A similar thing happened in Musoma the same week. The whole population was palpably caught up in the fear of what would happen next.
We took this event as an invitation to preach Jesus as the Risen Lord, who is Lord over all powers and authorities and has the power to give new, true peace that endures for all eternity. Daniel also had a prophetic word that all murderers would be captured by the police and so it was!
During those two days in Nyakiswa, some people decided to follow Jesus, repent and be baptized. Many also experienced healings. This resulted in a community of about 20 adults who now meet regularly under the leadership of Pastor Adonija for Bible reading, worship and prayer.
6-7.07.2023 Evangelism Outreach in Buturi | On a day trip to the Kenyan border, we visited Buturi for the first time. We met a handful of believers who had recently started meeting in a very small made dwelling. This group was started by a woman who heard a sermon by Daniel over the radio, and as a result, contacted Daniel and subsequently experienced a new birth and healing. The village is plagued by much sorcery, including human sacrifice on the so-called "Blood Mountain".
We decided to go there again to preach the gospel to the whole village. During two days we went from house to house and also preached in the village square. God confirmed his word with signs and wonders. Later we were allowed to baptize some of the village.
Healing Plan
Healingplan is a vessel that Daniel started some time ago.
Through sermons over the radio, but also through word-of-mouth, it became known in many places that Jesus is alive and still healing today. Many people come to Musoma from all over Tanzania to be prayed for. For many it is the last hope for healing that leads them to the church "Bonde la Baraka" (Valley of Blessing). Thereby the sufferings and needs are very diverse.

The construction on our property is progressing, in the last weeks the foundations of the first two mission houses could be laid. We hope that both houses can be completed by the end of 2023.
In addition to the two mission houses, a lodge to accommodate the "apprentices", a seminar/conference room, a kitchen with dining/community room will also be built.
We continue to be very grateful for your prayers, but also for financial support. We hope to complete the building project with the Discipleship Training School early next year. Regardless of whether it will be or not, we will continue to disciple and evangelize.
Soon we will give more insights (part 2) into the work in Tanzania. Until then, greetings and God's blessings! Family Salvisberg
