Project: Discipleship School

A practical school of discipleship is emerging

As a first step, we have purchased 17,000m2 of land outside Musoma. A training center is now to be built on this land in various stages to equip Jesus disciples from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and beyond. We also want to address specific needs in the surrounding area. We have already been able to build a school building for orphans in the town of Musoma, as well as a security fence for a small infirmary.

Cooperation

We work on site with local Jesus disciples. Our reference person is Bishop Daniel Adongo Ouma. He is the founder and movement leader of New Life Gospel Community Church (NLGCC). Daniel is passionate about the Gospel, social justice and education for the disadvantaged.

This collaboration is the foundation of our work in the field and strengthens mutual respect and understanding between different cultures and backgrounds.

Destination

People are to be specifically equipped in practical discipleship:

  • In the character of Jesus (humility, meekness, etc.),
  • In relationship with the Father in Heaven, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (able to hear His voice and trust Him fully).
  • In doing the works of Jesus preaching gospel, healing the sick, casting out demons, raising the dead, attending to the needs of people, etc.).
  • In the understanding and use of the Word of God.
  • In multiplication (making disciples. disciples who in turn are able to make disciples).

They should be able to go into the unreached regions and preach the full gospel with power, signs and wonders and make disciples of Jesus among whole tribes.

Next steps

Currently, we are in the following phase
(written in bold):

  1. Planning and financing phase.
  2. Construction of a school building in Musoma.
  3. A single fence around the land is built.
  4. Construction of a guard/warehouse with water and electricity supply.
  5. Construction of a well to supply water to the property and the local population.
  6. Construction of a house to accommodate the Salvisberg family (they lead the work and will be in Tanzania more often in the future) and .
  7. Construction of a building with kitchen, sanitary facilities and common room (for about 100 people).
  8. Construction of a building for the hospitalization of the disciples in training (for about 50 people).
  9. Construction of a house to accommodate additional employees & helpers on site. (Foundation laid)
  10. Construction of training rooms.

The training site is located outside Musoma in northern Tanzania, on the east coast of Lake Victoria. The Kenyan border is 1.5 hours away by car.

Musoma (capital of Mara District) is a 10 minute drive away. Bishop Daniel Adongo Ouma and the parish (NLGCC) are within this town.

The land was a field when purchased and was very fertile.

There is a small stream on the site, as well as a good groundwater deposit.

The task we have as disciples of Jesus is to make disciples! If we, as living stones (Peter), carry out our task in obedience and trust in Jesus, then he will do his part. He will build "his" church! Jesus says: I am building my church!

His kingdom come. May His will be done on earth as it is in heaven!
